Quantiative Research Methods for Communication: A Hands-On Approach
http://www.CommunicationResearch.info is designed to help students further investigate and understand the materials discussed in Wrench, Thomas-Maddox, Richmond, and McCroskey's (2008) text Quantiative Research Methods for Communication: A Hands-On Approach. We hope that this website will be a further extension in students' journey into the world of quantitative research methods.
This website is designed to provide students using the textbook with a handful of supplementary information including updates from the 5th edition of the American Psychological Association's Style Manual, which was used in the book, the 6th edition. You'll also find information and videos for using statistical software packages (including both traditional stats programs and open source [free] statistical software programs).
We hope that you find this website a useful addition to your learning experience. We've also created a Moodle site for faculty using our textbook, which is a great place for faculty to share ideas for teaching quantitative research methods. There is even a corresponding student Moodle site that also has some supplementary information for helping students learn as well.
Faculty interested in getting access to the Moodle Website should e-mail Jason Wrench at wrenchj@newpaltz.edu. In your e-mail please tell us who you are and provide a link to your college or university's website that clearly lists you as a faculty member (important for preventing non-faculty from joining the group).
For students wanting access to the Moodle Site, the enrollment key for the site is researchstudent. You will need this key before you can register for the site. Any profane or inappropriate behavior will cause Moodle participants to be ejected from the site forever..
IIf you have information about any part of this site, please feel free to e-mail Jason Wrench at wrenchj@newpaltz.edu.
